The natural heritage that surrounds us is as valuable as it is often unknown. Knowing our environment is necessary to appreciate and respect it. Transmit our rich cultural and natural heritage value It is essential to raise awareness among the younger generations and it is our responsibility to bring this knowledge to the classrooms.
The natural environment becomes a container of knowledge and educational resource, a space for culture and learning through significant strategies: active teaching, the value of meaningful learning, the importance of observation and experimentation, the need for contact with reality, ... a valuable procedural instrument that allows the teaching and learning process to be stimulated by the emotion of building knowledge through the development of cognitive skills based on active participation.
Know, value and respect the natural heritage It also implies an education in values. Knowing our environment, understanding it and giving it meaning is a way to take advantage of its educational potential.

A true didactic revolution is the one carried out PALEO Events , a program of scientific and informative itineraries aimed at Primary and ESO students, aimed at showing the natural history recounted by the amazing and ancient events that our natural spaces hold: avalanches, explosions, earthquakes, climate changes...
A program of excursions through the island's landscapes designed to support the teaching teams from any educational center in Tenerife.
This initiative, which has been running since the 2015/16 academic year, aims to ensure that all schoolchildren on the island know what the nature that welcomes them is like, through an active methodology and pedagogical renewal: observing, imagining, creating, playing, manipulating, reflecting, formulating hypotheses, concluding, checking or giving alternatives are different steps of an active and investigative learning process.

Since its inception, the PALEO Events program has become essential material, as recognized by the teams responsible for numerous centers on the island, who continue to place their trust in the project, since it is a complementary support program to the curricular areas and that takes advantage of the didactic possibilities offered by our environment.
